Two-Kinds, The History

Two-Kinds came to be at the start as a spur of the moment idea for Tom Fischbach in his early high school life, and grew over the 11 years in has been going on. 11 years! wow, for a comic to go on for that long, and by the size of the fan group.

His art style has change from the first comic posted on October 22nd of 2003, to the current comic to date. Every Wednesday mostly is when a new wonderful comic comes out roughly. What was his reason to make Two-Kinds? the writer Tom Fischbach says “ I was inspired to write Two-Kinds after having experienced a lot of racial discrimination from kids at my school, who were predominantly white. My writing skills at the time were not very good, but I still felt like I was doing something good by trying to create a good message through my writing. After struggling to create a book for a year, I decided making a comic might be a better option. After working at my art for several more years, I finally came out with Two-Kinds on October 22nd, 2003.” In his comic most of the conflicting races are the Humans and the Keidran, but like most the best part of conflict is the fact that the two main characters Trace Legacy,24 (Human Male)and Flora of the rainforest tiger tribe,11 (Keidran Female) are the best of friends and there are even hints that they may even be in love!

Every comic page is beautifully colored and the artwork is wonderful. Story is easy to follow even when it jumps between two groups. One consists of Trace,Flora,Natani Keith,Eric,Kathrin,Mike,Evals, and cute Madelyn, which are at sea at this point in time. The other consists of Zen,Sythe,Mrs Nibbly,Raine,Maren, and Karen, there is another but for now the red head is known as Database error, not much is known why, so we’ll have to wait. A dragon named Lady Nora is seen a lot in the comic, but doesn’t travel with anyone group. There are other characters but their not seen much yet. The plot of the story as the writer has posted on his page is “After losing his memory to a mysterious battle, Trace Legacy, a former leader for an organization of mages called the Templar, finds himself in the company of Flora, a girl of strange, tiger-like qualities. As Trace gradually begins to re-learn what he once knew, he soon discovers that Flora belongs to a race of people who are enemies of his kind. As friendship conflicts with racial differences, Trace and Flora find themselves in a situation more critical than either of them can imagine.” This is an outstanding comic, and I personally hope it will continue to grow and be loved for many years to come.
